O ponto de partida para a construção do roteiro de nossa encenação foi o texto O Avarento, de Molière e a versão que o encenador catalão, Jordi Bertran, fez da obra no final dos anos 90. O espírito que esta versão invocou – a água como bem precioso, o acúmulo de riquezas e a avareza de quem a administra – é o que nos norteou na nossa releitura e no processo de criação.
Utilizando torneiras e registros de hidráulica para a construção das personagens, o grupo encena uma versão do clássico de Molière que impacta pelo visual insólito das personagens e pela fidelidade que a nova versão tem com o original do autor francês.
O AVARENTO, de Molière (versão hídrica) é um espetáculo para ser realizado numa sala de espetáculo ou em um espaço alternativo.
Em O Avarento (L’Avare), o autor cria o protagonista Harpagão, um velho “mão-de-vaca” que carrega os filhos para a sua mesquinharia e desconfia da lealdade de todos. O personagem, viúvo, solitário, mal-humorado e infeliz, não descansa, pois tem medo de ser roubado, já que guarda todo seu dinheiro em casa, e esforça-se para que os filhos não casem com alguém sem dotes. Por trás das passagens cômicas, Molière desenvolve uma farsa hilariante, ambígua, revelando.
